Happy Birthday, My Love

You are patient, you are kind.
You do not envy, you do not boast,
You are not proud.
You do not dishonor others,
You are not self-seeking,
You are not easily angered,
You keep no record of wrongs.
You do not delight in evil but rejoice with the truth.
You always protect, always trust,
always hope, always persevere.

Thank you for sharing the last 12 years with me.
I'm looking forward to many, many more!

Happy Birthday, My Love!

Love Never Fails

Love Never Fails
as sung by Brandon Heath

Love is not proud
Love does not boast
Love after all
Matters the most

Love does not run
Love does not hide
Love does not keep
Locked inside

Love is the river that flows through
Love never fails you
Love will sustain
Love will provide
Love will not cease
At the end of time

Love will protect
Love always hopes
Love still believes
When you don't

Love is the arms that are holding you
Love never fails you
When my heart won't make a sound
When I can't turn back around
When the sky is falling down
Nothing is greater than this
Greater than this

Love is right here
Love is alive
Love is the way
The truth the life

Love is the river that flows through
Love is the arms that are holding you
Love is the place you will fly to
Love never fails you

To my wonderful Husband,
Thank you for your love, your friendship, your strength, and your faith. We're only eight years into this; I'm looking forward to the many decades to come. Happy Anniversary, Babe!
I love you!

6 years of wedded bliss!

Six years ago this week, I married the love of my life. We chose the last week of October because of the beautiful scenery here in the Ozarks. We were once again able to enjoy God's amazing creativity displayed in a Missouri autumn as we enjoyed a fabulous weekend getaway here.

Last summer, Hubby was awarded this getaway package from his employer for displaying excellence in the workplace. Thanks to his hard work throughout the year, and the gracious offer of my in-laws to watch our kids, we were able to enjoy two, kid-free days of amazing food, luxurious accommodations, and inspiring scenery. We indulged in a relaxing pace and were able to truly relish each other's company without the interruption of little ones. It was the best anniversary gift ever!

Thank you, Babe, for all you do for us. I love you!

Happy (Belated) Father's Day!!

We were too busy yesterday having some family fun (and then avoiding the weird, brief hailstorm that suddenly popped up) to post a Father's Day wish for my husband, so here it is:

Happy Father's Day to my best friend, my soulmate, the love of my life, and lucky for me, the father of my beautiful children! You are the best, Babe! Thank you for being the wonderful husband and father that you are!

The Man I Love

I don't say it often enough, but I have an amazing Hubby. (Yes, I am going to be mushy, so if that bothers you, sorry, but it's MY blog!) ;) There really are so many reasons that I love him, but here is a small glimpse of the wonderful man I married and just one of the many reasons he is still the Love of My Life...

Today Hubby had a BIG meeting concerning a new project he's been given that is putting a lot of responsibility (and stress) on his already-overworked shoulders. (Hubby works in the information technology department for a healthcare company.) The meeting included his bosses, a couple VPs, and a new client they have recently signed who will be mostly Hubby's responsibility. The meeting lasted most of the afternoon, and at 6:00 they all decided to continue the meeting over dinner at a nearby restaurant. Despite pressure from his boss and the client, Hubby declined the invitation to dinner and simply expained to them that he had to get home to his family.

Lest you think I am sitting at home, ready to crack the whip should he venture in a few minutes late, I told him he should go to the dinner. (so as not to miss any information on the new project or to disappoint his bosses.) I'm sure he will suffer some teasing (or maybe worse) for his decision, but I know that doesn't bother him because that's not the kind of man he is. He's the kind of man who gives 110% to his job when he's at work, but when it comes to his family he gives 200% and he does everything in his power to be home at night to eat dinner with us, play with the kids, and help with bedtime. I knew it 7 years ago when we started dating, I knew it 5 years ago when we got married, but I was reminded of it again today..I got me a good man!
